On Comments, Appreciated

So, i was just sitting here noticing how people don't comment much. not like this bothers me or anything. i don't sit here 16 hours a day waiting for your responses, haha... just 15 hours...

no, but seriously now, comments are not required, but they are always appreciated. in fact, your comments are treasured. Colton and I savor every word you write, and place them lovingly in a glass bottle and mingle them with our tears....

I didn't even know you had a blog so don't blame me for not commenting...this is the first post I've seen. and who's Colin? Are you speaking of Colin Danaher?

So I figured if anybody could put their heads together & come up with an answer to this question, it may be you two.
If octopus pluralized is actually octopodes, then is platypus pluralized actually platypodes?
And does this mean there's a bunch of poor confused platyp(-uses, -i, -odes) out there? Methinks you should inform the platyp(-uses, -i, -odes) when you get the answer. =)

I see that my legacy precedes me... I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

ponderer, your questions are being "mingled with our tears" at the moment, then we shall answer your thought-provoking question.

another question from SoP...if the plural of mouse is mice, and the plural of louse is lice...is the singular of dice douse?

what about geese and goose, moose and...meese?

if you don't mind me using your ingenious acronymn, this blog has had me ROLF! (is that a correct usage of the lingo?). So I decided to conform to non-conformity and throw in a random thought to be "mingled with your tears"...

I was at the dentist today, and and wondering why the friendly hygienists always seem to ask you questions and try to make conversation with you as they are sticking pointy objects in your mouth, under your tongue, and halfway down your throat. I was quite perplexed, and thought perhaps the Siphon of Insanity may be the place to seek my answer. ;)

As I was thinking the other day (a dangerous occupation on my part), my cranium concocted up this question: Why does our English alphabet have one letter of three syllables (w) and 25 letters of one syllable? If you can answer this one, I'll give you a chocolate, sprinkle-covered doughnut! :)
